Taking place between Wednesday 16th and Sunday 20th July, the project preview exhibition gave a chance for people to preview Young Motherhood through a selection of portraits, excerpts from interviews and the debut screening of the extended trailer at the private view.
There was a screening of the Young Motherhood extended trailer and a Q&A session with Jendella at HERStory alongside panel debates, performances and talks from other women with inspiring and encouraging stories.
At this intimate evening of story-telling and music there was a screening of the extended trailer and selection of portraits were exhibited along with interviews with three of the women who participated.
The AACDD festival took place at the Bargehouse, OXO Tower Wharf, along the famous London Southbank. Young Motherhood was featured in the festival alongside four floors of work by artists and designers of African and African-Caribbean descent.
Featuring a film screening, talk and Q&A about the project for a group of women leaders from the British Christian Community.
Taking place at one of London’s premier arts venues, RichMix, the Young Motherhood exhibition took place over three weeks. The exhibition also featured a private view and #YoungMumsMeetUp – a chance for young mums to come down to the exhibition, socialise and also discuss issues that mattered to them.
Sponsored by MPs Kate Green and Teresa Pearce, the event featured an exhibition of the portraits from the project, talks, screenings and discussion about the project and the issues surrounding it.
